Lauren Santo Domingo is known for her incredible sense of fashion, as well as for distinguishing what’s most in style at any given moment and curating incredible collections of clothing. She’s no stranger to high fashion, the most prominent designers, or Vogue Magazine, in which she has her own feature called “APT with LSD,” where she tours stylish homes and writes about her findings.

Lauren Santo Domingo is a true tastemaker in the fashion world, something which extends to other facets of her life, such as home décor. In a recent interview with Rue Magazine, Santo Domingo talked about her personal style in both fashion and at home, and gives trend-setting tips to readers on how to perfect their home décor. She says that “Fashion and décor should amuse you and your friends—why be boring?” explaining that in her home she chooses “items that range from perfectly functional to completely strange.”

Santo Domingo thinks that your home styling should be just as daring, tasteful, and reflective of your personal style as your wardrobe is. She likens household accessories to clothing accessories saying, “A good statement necklace dresses up your look, just like a sparkly light fixture glamorizes the room.” In a Vogue feature of Lauren Santo Domingo’s own NYC loft, she explains that her home is “like a proper wardrobe. At my house, it might be a small tweak, but you’re never going to see the same thing twice.”

What will we see at Santo Domingo’s apartment? She describes her personal style and her home décor as “‘twisted classic’—a timeless foundation peppered with pieces that make you look (and think) twice.” Leave it to Lauren Santo Domingo to keep fashion-lovers captivated by not only her fabulous personal wardrobe, but her sophisticated and daring home styling as well.
